Short-Light-Single becomes Bell 505 Jet Ranger JRX

In the style stakes I am inclined to feel that Bell have come full-circle!
I've mentioned before that I much prefer the design concept of the original 'JRX' but I suspect that was conceived when Bell still believed the JetRanger could run against the Ecureuil. In reality only the 407 effectively competes with the AS350 series and even then, with short-comings at altitude.
Many have said that the newly labelled '505' is being rolled-out to compete against the R66, fair enough. But .. will the Arrius 2R truly out perform the RR300 in terms of fuel efficiency and maintenance costs?
Today's news from Helli-Expo cites 94 'letters of intent' for the JRX but I for one can't help but feel that this is one of the most underwhelming product releases in many-a-year.
I hope I am wrong.
