        Apparently it costs around $10k to train the dog mainly as a deterrent against Rhino poachers.

        By the way, remember the "Gazelle & dogs" theme we had in some previous posts? This is more like "Gazelle armed with dogs"

          Those are the venturis to get the sand out of the filter. The (hot) air comes from the engine and goes through the 4 needles and sucks the sand out of the filter.

                                    This craft from the IAC's 3rd Operations Wing, has been posted before, but is seen in this image from a different angle. '241' is captured while flying as a fictitious British Army Gazelle "XX 168" during the shooting a of a movie.

                                    This craft later became a Crabtree Gaz to fly as HA-LFQ and is seen further up this page now flying in South Africa as ZU-RZR.

                                        Zis/Jos, I can't make out whether this is built Aérospatiale or Soko! On Jos' list she appears to have two serial numbers ascribed to her, an Aérospatiale number (1079) and a Soko number too (003). Was she then a re-manufactured craft, perhaps after a crash or something?

                                          Well, the aircraft is a bit of both because today's RA-1341K was one of 21 SA341H's delivered from France to Yugoslavia back in 1973. In fact she has a few other serial numbers also because upon arrival in Yugoslavia she was temporarily serialled 12005 and after being re-assembled by SOKO a few years later became HO-42 #003 allocated serial 12611. She was demobbed in 2001 and received a civil registration (YU-HEN) and was then sold to Russia.

                                          Pity her c/n plate on the instrument table is painted black, but I'm sure it has 003 engraved on it!
