Reports indicate that an aircraft mechanic was performing a post-maintenance ground run when the helicopter inadvertently became airborne, reaching a height of approximately 10ft, before crashing to the ground.
Substantial damage was sustained to the aircraft's undercarriage and tail boom.

Most company SOP's now preclude mechanics/engineers from performing ground runs, because there have been quite a few of these incidents over the years in various parts of the world.
