It's been a while since we saw a photo of this bird. Glad to see that she is still flying.

F-ZWRN
In October 1973 this Gazelle was fitted with a wing and made it's first test flight. This experimental Gazelle aimed to study the behavior of the helicopter at high speeds and high load factors especially in low altitude tactical flight. At the beginning of the 70's, preliminary studies for the future attack helicopter intended for the French Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre led Aerospatiale and the French DGA to launch the realization of a prototype derived from the Gazelle helicopter equipped with a wing. However, auto-rotation behavior was considered as a sufficient obstacle to not continue the experiment.
This particular Gazelle had a busy life, because without its wing it was used for many studies including the evaluation of a new concept of main rotor (Biflex and Triflex) to test the aerodynamics at high speeds as well as vibration damping.

Ciao Stefano!
So perhaps they would know as I saw a photo of HA-LFE at Hidroplan some time back, painted in the same green as HA-LFB.

On Avia, messages donβt always follow the original message, so you donβt always know what the reply is to.

Grazie Stefano! π
β There you go Zis, just look for a Spanish-speaking Gaz owner, then ask him when 1527 will be airborne again. π
β Yep, the whole system on Avia is very 'clunky' and long overdue an overhaul, hopefully soon. However, to keep comments related to the post, then one can maintain the conversation in the comments section below the post (as I am doing now) only that these are often 'overlooked' be readers unless one specifically surveys past message to see whether any comments have been made.
