I think this Gazelle is an SA341D HT.3 as it spent probably all of it's life with Central Flying School (CFS) and or 2 Flying Training School with the RAF at Shawbury before going into storage at Shawbury. It was then sold in the batch of Gazelles at Redhill by JCM Disposals via the London Helicopter Centre. It was painted in the standard red/white scheme with code U. It was sold to Peter Unwin as G-CBSI and I have always wondered why it was repainted as such ?

Grazie Elipix! I think the total number of 'E' models that served with the RAF were fairly few.

SA342M F-MGAM (3863) as seen during live fire operations during Operation Harmattan in 2011: definitely not during Harmattan, as all these ops were conducted by night and from the sea, off the Libyan shore. The blue-painted warhead of the HOT indicates that it is an inert missile used for practice firing purposes.

                            This issue has arisen before.

I think by now that those who are in the business of trading Gazelles understand what's going on.

I'm the guy who posted that listing on Hanger 247, The owner was in Italy (Fabio Baldi) and I'm in Uganda. I didn't know why it was N numbered but it was located in Italy..
It was sold 2 years ago. Godspeed👍

                                Ciao Ian

When considering the global market, without question there are always aircraft of dubious provenance. For this reason I always recommend investing in a PPI (you can read about that here).

Over the years, Aviafora has been contacted by those in various stages of buying Gazelles and who are keen to receive any information we have about both the aircraft in question and their sellers, and we are pleased to share whatever information we have in order to help them make their decision. We support all of our members, both buyers and sellers, and encourage best practice at all times.

                                Regards

                                Sav

                                    Yes, he's 15 now.

Some weeks ago he did his 'unofficial checkride' with an instructor.

                                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE7R2ApJOSw

Taking off, departing, levelling out. quick stop OGE, accelerating or decelerating without altitude changes, hydraulics off flight, autorotation, landing. I taught him everything, in fact, he could already hover with the 3 controls when he was 9y old.

The instructor had nothing to do and was very impressed :-)

                                    to be continued...

Students from the 1300 Corporals Military Vocational High School visiting the Serbian Air Force facility in Batajnica in July 2022

Students are exposed to the 'Super Seagull' and 'Lasta' aircraft as well as the Gazelle helicopter as part of their internship with 204th Air Force Brigade, which aims to train future Air Force NCO's to perform crewing and maintenance.

During the training, students acquire knowledge about the aircraft, it's components, the roles they perform, the principles behind their operation and the procedures involved in maintaining and supporting their operations.

After four years of training, students from the Military Vocational High School will become qualified technicians admitted to the Serbian Armed Forces as professional NCO's at the rank of Sergeant.
