Meet the singing daughter of an Avia member who also likes to fly Gazelles!

Liberio (owner of N37UP) is very proud of his daughter Arianna (above) and wanted to share with us her latest song Un mondo che balla (A world that dances) a summer dance song for the people of Italy and beyond!
In addition to singing, Arianna's papà reports that his daughter enjoys flying '7UP' and does so very well.
Congratulazioni Liberio!

SA341G 4X-BHI (cn.1294) as seen conducting film work over the Sea of Galilee c. late 80's early 90's
A truly rare bird on today's Flashback Friday, not only a Hebrew Gazelle, but one with fixed floats!
Notice the green paint on the oil cooler pipe cover, a leftover from her days as D-HAIR.
With our great thanks to Elipix for sourcing this photo, grazie amico!

I think I still have that green oil cooler pipe from 4X-BHI. I can remember getting some of the covers repainted though.
I never saw any floats when I emptied the stores in Israel, presumably they were damaged beyond repair.

I bought all the spare parts, including all the stripped as well as damaged airframe parts.

SA341C ZK-HTB (WA1299) as seen outside the Heli Maintenance hangar at Christchurch Airport on 20th December 2005
It seems as if a fair number of birds flew the Yeovil coop without the quality control or date stamp on their data plate.
It is possible I suppose, that Westland's official 'stamper' was on tea break when the aircraft were being dispatched for delivery, and I suppose it is also possible that the releasing of aircraft from the shop so consistently interfered with his tea breaks that he simply stamped up a batch of plates, put them in a pile, and told the fitters to help themselves as required!

A Serbian Air Force Gazelle, SA341H 12836 (cn.080) from the 98th Airborne Brigade, has crashed while conducting a training flight in the area of Rutevac in Serbia.
SA341H 12836 (cn.080) which crashed on 19th July 2019 near the village of Rutevac in Serbia
Upon landing, the aircraft rolled to the right causing substantial damage to the airframe and its components. However, the two crew members on board suffered only minor injuries. It is likely that the aircraft will be written-off.
The cause of the crash as yet remains undetermined but will be investigated by the Serbian Ministry of Defence.

SFTF. More likely taken mid to late 80's, after the training contract ended.High skid gear was not installed when i was there. Photo shows the later 5 point harness pilots seats and an original (locally sourced) orange frangible fairing too. The Astazou shows the same colour scheme sported by SFTG.

G-SFTF Silverstone....
Yes Nosco you are correct mid to late eighties and thanks for jogging my old failing memory. I do remember we flew into Silverstone in G-BDXW a Piper Cherokee Arrow 200 owned by my friend and war-bird collector Peter Teichman. He owned it between 1984 and 1987. Can check my log book for exact date.
Re other SFT Gazelles... there are various photos showing a good deal of parts swapping within the fleet. Was there a reason behind this or was someone working in a dark hangar !!!

Photos do show one issue, engine colour scheme mismatching. Someone previously (in the USA), thought it a good idea to paint the Astazou's (normally Grey painted) casings, with the same colours as the airframe. This was ok until you swap engines, from airframe to airframe. Photos show TF's Astazou with TG's colours. TF originally had a Astazou with colours unrelated to any other SFT Gazelle and that engine went into TG. It may have been that TF, being lightly utilised, gave up its lower time engine, to TG, which flew daily. The high time engine could then remain in service longer, in a low utilised airframe, pushing back the cost of overhaul.
The only other mis-matched colours I recall were the engine inlet silencers, which some aircraft had and some didn't. I'm not certain we had many sets, so they probably got swapped around a bit.
