      • 1566 Placed on US Register

SA341G 1566 has been added to the FAA register as N7448Y on 22nd February. It is registered to a trust company (Aerospace Trust Management) so could be anywhere!

Last information I had was when it was registered as SX-HDL which was cancelled back in 2010.

Lovely to see all these Gazelles wearing skid fairings including RMZ which seems to be on high skids. They must have made fibreglass moulds for those as well then, great stuff!

          • Review of the newly released War Thunder Gazelle with some interesting specification info

Un Petit Morceau d'histoire de la Gazelle / A Little Piece of Gazelle History

            Regarding Jeanne D’Arc helicopter cruiser:

She saw combat just once. In 2008, Somali pirates kidnapped 30 people aboard the French yacht Le Ponant . Jeanne D’Arc was part of the rescue force. French agents paid a ransom to free the hostages. And then Jeanne D’Arc promptly launched a Gazelle helicopter that chased down the fleeing pirates and recovered the money.

                      • ~ GAZELLE PRODUCTION LISTS ~

Aviafora is pleased to continue its cooperation with Rotorspot in making the latest Gazelle Production Lists available to our members and readers.

These production lists are an aggregation of Aérospatiale, Westland, ABHCO and Soko built Gazelles, and contain details of each aircraft's registration and construction number together with the aircraft's previous registration/s and current status (ie. whether operational, withdrawn from use, written-off, etc.). These lists identify each Gazelle variant, both civilian and military, including stretched versions.

Over the past year, Avia member Jos (Rotorspot's owner) has installed a number of new features on his site, and which means that our readers may now access this information online via the following links:

                        Aérospatiale, Westland & ABHCO List

                        Soko List

At the top of each list is an option to download this information should you wish to save this to your device.

If you have any issues with downloading, or if like me you would like to have a single combined list, Jos will be pleased to assist you. If you are requesting a single (combined) list, please let Jos know your preference of format, ie. XLS, CSV or plain text.

You may contact Jos at: rotorspot@yahoo.com

Rotorspot currently offers access to over 158,300 civil helicopter registration entries, both current and historical.

Unfortunately the engine is calendar timed out so no commercial ops even though it's a standard category. Engine seals and bearings are dried out; Safran Turbomeca wouldn't do an overhaul for less than $300k in advance. AP doesn't work. No 12 year inspection. Good buy though!!! The former owner Rene Meiulier told me Mark Rowlands got it for $260,000. But I wouldn't pay more than $200,000.. Wouldn't get near the machine without a new engine and rotor system.

Nice picture. JA9153 in fact crashed when landing at the Takayanagi Factory in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture on 16-Mar-1979, and was cancelled as destroyed on 27-Mar-1979.

The one that crashed at Tokyo Heliport on 08-Jun-1988 was JA9164, c/n 1022 (which was repaired as N505HA).
